Sunnybelle Shih Tzus
How it all started
We fell in love with the Shih Tzu breed when Sunny, my daughter, turned ten years old and we bought her a puppy for her birthday. It was the BEST decision we ever made!
Sunny named her Annabelle Henrietta (Belle for short) and they became best friends. Later, we let Belle have a litter of puppies as a fun mother/daughter hobby, and then we ended up loving it so much that we decided to continue breeding as a family business!
We picked the name Sunnybelle Shih Tzus to remind us of our sweet beginnings.
We love rare colors and once we saw our first chocolate Shih Tzu we knew that was the color we wanted to breed. Over the years we have worked hard to establish the true chocolate color along with healthy genes and friendly personalities in our puppies. This is why we DNA test all of our breeding adults, which helps us choose which dogs to breed together.

We are VERY excited to share 10% of our puppy price with a wonderful non-profit ministry called Family Legacy Missions International! A dear friend of our family was one of the founding members of this ministry and helped build their Tree of Life Village and Legacy Academy School. The Tree of Life Village provides homes for the most vulnerable orphans and the Legacy Academy Schools are educating the next generation of Zambian leaders!
Our puppies also sponsor two children, a little girl named “Diness” and a boy named “David” so they can have at least one meal a day and attend a Legacy Academy School in their area. Family Legacy also takes American families to Zambia to minister to and share the gospel with these precious orphans through their Camp Life project. What started as a hobby in 2012 is now our family business with my husband and daughter. We work together as a team to raise our puppies in our home. They are held and loved on by our family, and are well socialized by the time they are ready to go to their new homes. We’ve learned a lot in our years of breeding and are constantly working on improving our lines, especially the health, pretty faces, and conformation of our dogs. We are excited about sharing our beautiful Shih Tzu puppies with you and filling your home with lots of love!
